Covid-19
After running sessions this fall, the Academy is currently on hold but will resume sessions in the Summer Term starting in April 2021.
First term ends with Recital & Masterclass Day on December 13 2020
We have had a successful first term despite the many challenges to overcome, and the Academy would like to thank parents, students, coaches and the Stapleford Granary for making our first term together possible.
The last event of the term, our second Recital & Masterclass Day, was held on December 13. Watch the video below for a compilation of fall 2020 student performances. For more photos and videos, go to our Events page, or click on the links to our Facebook page and YouTube channel below.

The Cambridge Chamber Academy is based in Cambridge, UK, and provides a local alternative to the junior conservatoires in London where advanced young musicians can receive high quality musical education through chamber music, regular performance and masterclasses.
The Academy is for advanced piano, violin, viola and cello students who are at grade 8+ level and under 21 years of age*. Students play in coached chamber music sessions throughout the year and participate in end-of-term Recital & Masterclass Days. All sessions take place at the Stapleford Granary, a professional concert and cultural venue just 15 minutes outside of Cambridge.

Why the Academy was formed
The Cambridge Chamber Academy grew from a small group of parents and teachers searching for performance opportunities for their students who had prepared works close to a professional level. The group also felt that advanced young students in the Cambridge area who wanted to develop further had little choice but to travel to junior conservatories such as those in London. The Academy was created therefore to provide a local setting where its best young musicians can come together to make music and taste what life as a professional musician is like.
Philosophy
The Academy's philosophy is that regular performance and coached chamber music sessions are the two best ways for a young musician to develop. Participating in masterclasses given by performing professionals and then playing alongside them in recitals allow students to learn not only from their teaching but through their example as well.
